"This is Rift magic..."

So I'm back! My hand no longer hurts but alas, I came down with a kidney infection. (It never stops, does it?) To start myself back into the swing of things, I shook off the cobwebs with a sketch of Solas showing Alysanne the basics of Rift magic. I do love the serenity on his face... He's in his element: teaching.

Lesson One

While painting Flemeth's dearest grand daughter, Alysanne, I said to myself..."I hope you break his heart, Alysanne. I hope you break his heart in such a way that he realizes that what he's doing is wrong." Alysanne is such a sweet and innocent girl... She's also extremely naughty! (Bringing home a dragon egg, anyone?) And yet, it's that child-like innocence in her that begs you to explore, it begs you tap into the call of adventure, and she wants to know it all. "The first lesson, da'len..." Solas began after Alysanne's mother, left her in his care, "Is keeping you out of trouble." "Okay. But I know where this one dragon..." Sighs.

A scene from my fic where Alysanne, (my Inquisitor’s teenage daughter and Solas’ ward) wakes up, throws her blanket around her and goes down to the training grounds in search of her brother, Bryce.  She finds Solas watching Bryce train and stands with him, but being still bleary eyed and not so bushy tailed, she leans on Solas and semi-dozes on his shoulder.  Solas looks down at her, amused.

Dreaming of a Nightmare.  So what happens when you camp out in some old ruins, with your ward and she has a nasty dream about Mythal’s murder..?  If you’re Solas, you chastise the ever loving fuck out of yourself for being so careless with your dreams. -  I really should paint a stand alone picture of Alysanne Caster...
