“who said it was?” she mumbles, nudging him with her elbow before she takes a shot of her soju. they were at her apartment because he didn’t want her coming into a bar with him containing a fake id. so they both compromised and she paid for the drinks, he came back with it and they’re safely drinking atop her dining room table. there’s a few spots spilled with liquor, she dabs it away with the sleeve of her sweater. her puppy trots over to gnaw at her slipper and she let him have it. “i didn’t, that’s for sure. say like.. you. y’got money but that’s not what y’live life for. like y’said before-- y’wouldn’t care if y’gave whatever amount t’someone ‘cos that’s not what makes y’happy. y’feel me? s’your job, man.” she presses her index finger into his chest gently. “that’s what’s perfect for ya- an’ you’re still improvin’ on that perfection.”
she leans back in her chair, letting it rise a bit and hoist her weight up on its hind legs. hopefully she didn’t fall because that would be a wreck. “for me, say, i fight for money, right? i think that’s perfection. though lots of people oppose to it, i think it’s perfect for someone like me.” she hums, taking another swig straight from the soju bottle itself. “iunno if i’m makin’ sense ‘cos i know for a fact that m’not drunk yet.” hyejung hums before letting her chair back onto the floor. “perfection.. there are so many ideas an’ theories an’ shit for perfection. perfection is in your eyes-- there’s different standards for people. even a simple meal on a plate could be perfection for people.” she sighs, setting her shot glass down before letting her pinky trace the rim of it. “i know the shit y’teach me ain’t perfect, but the perfect moves are the ones i don’t have control over. the one that jus’ happens. like a one-it wonder.. y’know?”
