Jasper headed down the stairs quickly glancing around the common room, it was practically empty, with only a few second years chatting in the corner, he leaned on the wall to wait, he wondered if he ought to be taking her on a better date than just going to Hogsmeade for a meal but it would seem a little... much. She hadn’t seemed to mind when he’d owled her to ask if today suited. He figured, they’d been friends for a while, it was better to build from that and become more, not suddenly try to be something more. 

He was nervous, after all he’d been working up to confessing for a while, it had been easy with Harmony because they hadn’t been friends before that but being friends first had made him think a lot more about whether to act on his feelings or not, after all he’d valued Soleil as a friend. And then there was the whole Scorpius thing, that couldn’t be easy to get over and he hadn’t wanted to rush her. He was still a little worried it might not work, but hopefully it would and hopefully even if it didn’t they were mature enough to make it work.

“Soleil is one of my favourite people at Hogwarts, she’s easy to talk to, she laughs at my dumb jokes. She’s caring and kind. I heard that she’s dating Malfoy and I wish that she knew she could do a lot better but if he makes her happy then so be it. She’s a good friend and I really enjoy being around her, I like that she teases me back, and she’s one of my favourite people to run into in the common room.”
