15 What is your character afraid of?
Failure. Specifically, failing to protect that which he vowed to. No matter how much suffering could possibly come to him, Haruto will always fear for others more than he fears for himself. It isn’t that he doesn’t have a sense of self-preservation, but he values the lives of others long before he does his own. So, the idea of him failing to protect someone, watching them fade away before his very eyes…
It’s a nightmare to him. One he’s already seen multiple times, and one he wants like hell to avoid seeing ever again.
