You need to teach your dog the language of coping with the outside world in a way the dog is able to comprehend its surroundings. Ecollars do the opposite I'm afraid, love. They are not humane. People who use these on their dogs do so because it's "easy" than the alternative of taking slow steps to expose your dogs to different stimuli and positively reinforcing the desired behaviour and working out if the mistake is your fault for pushing your dog too far too quickly.
So many trainers think you need "tools" or "equipment" to successfully train dogs... The truth here is you should be putting the effort in BEFORE you need these tools.
Sure there are exceptions to the rule but general rule of thumb is UNDERSTAND your dogs body language and emotions. They're here for a short time give them the life they deserve and dont suppress it with pieces of bull crap that is not needed.
