Hey! Just put of curiosity, what is Trainer and Falcon's relationship like? I know it's implied they've slept together before but, in an ideal world, would they be a good couple?

This is from the Solis series FYI for people not familiar. Since I, you know, go years without updating.

Trainer and Falcon are kind of currently... old friends with occasional benefits.

It's hard to recall because Falcon looks under 30 (Half elf) but they're very close in age, both in their fifties. They've been in that household most of their lives with the other person around somewhere, so they've seen a lot of the same things and known all the same people, Master Dionys in particular.

The two of them have occasionally looked after each other when injured, and when Falcon first had to become a fighter, they spent a lot of time together naturally.

In an ideal world, they'd probably never have met. They're both survivors of a pretty horrible life, and enslaved. They have the personality compatibility to make a relationship work if they were shoved together but Trainer's never been sure if he'd be any good at commitment. His longest relationship has been mostly by force and necessity after all.

How many years was Martin at the house of poppies? (I love this story!)

He's not very sure, but he was late teens/barely a young adult when he was taken as a slave and sold there. 17-18, so.... He would have been there for about 5 years.

I'm so glad you like it! I know I have neglected it but I DO have ongoing plot for it as I gradually get myself writing again.

How old was Martin at the beginning of his story?

In Chapter one of Solis, he's about 22. Still barely an adult, and WAAAAYYYY out of his depth.

I love my soft sweet baby Martin but I also want to see Martin doing the killing and maiming and violence, you know? And I cannot wait to find out how he becomes a fucking priest lol

It's a little hard to envision, isn't it?

What's so funny about Martin is that he walked into my head a fully ordained Priest and age 55, with some... interesting scars, telling me he's going to look after Alec.

The question "How did you get like you are" is what led to writing Solis, because he has had a LONG journey, from one extreme to another and another. He's certainly not your usual cleric.

That one semi-hiatused as I build up the next major arc, in my head, but I do have the next post in progress already. I have the direction and general idea but I have to work out how to bring it in and pace things.

Such an innocuous pose and yet SO CREEPY, commenting on how this new whumpee hasn’t got the scarring the others all wear now. Petting him like a blank canvas. AND like a creep.

What is Brother Martin’s relationship with physical intimacy? Just curious because of his past lack of control over his body.

By the time we're meeting him as Brother Martin, he's about 55 years old and has had a long journey working on healing from his past. (cont.)

He spent a lot of his time in slavery being sold. With his pleasure slave training he was able to keep those people satisfied with him. But he always dreamed of what it would be like to share affection and not just physical actions. People liked him to pretend, but it was just imaginary. Only a few times did he experience anything like actual fondness and caring, and he treasured those experiences.

A section of his story I haven't even *hinted* at yet with more than a name drop involves him trying to learn to make his choices on his own, to decide what he wants to consent to or not, and to form real connections with people. There's a lot to that and it's a tangle he has to sort out for himself.

Then by the time we're meeting him at 55, he's done a LOT of soul searching and healing, and taken vows as a Priest. They include a Vow of Chastity- no further than light kissing unless he marries. He has become very comfortable with platonic intimacy and finds it extremely rewarding. Holding hands, sleeping next to a friend, sitting with an arm around someone. The healing touch of kind hands is very important to him both in his work as a Healer and in his relationships with people.
