I've intended this stuff for a Mature audience, 16+ recommended, PG-13ish.  While there will never be anything outright explicit, a lot of heavy subject matter is handled including sexual content implied.

Captured

Includes a Redemption Arc, questionable religion vs honest, captivity and torture, creepy whumper, and huge helpings of Disproportionate Punishment for a snarky, defiant whumpee.

Featuring Harrow the Warlock, Sir Conroy and others.

This is a story about a relatively wicked warlock who is taken prisoner by his worst enemies- men claiming holiness, out to save his soul… But good and evil are more complicated than some would make them.

About: This is a tale in a homebrew setting I made up for 5th Edition D&D, in a world called Tsanet. The main characters even have character sheets and spell lists. But in this setting the Moral Alignments of both Gods and Men are a bit less clearcut than in, say, Faerun.

Solis

Includes Slavery, Forced to Fight, a tough coach, relationships toxic and otherwise, coping with violence, whumpee/whumper/caretaker blur, and it’s Totally Not Greco-Roman (yes it is) (Contains Implied noncon/r*pe)

Featuring Martin Solis, Trainer, Dionys Campras, and others

This is a story about a young man who was enslaved in a gilded cage, and was suddenly thrown from that life into the world of the gladiator arenas.

It is set in the same D&D 5E homebrew setting as the Captured series and the Tiefling series, in a world called Tsanet. While slavery is outlawed for the most part in all of Waldenost, where Captured takes place, it is not illegal in Charis, just to the south.

Includes captivity, intimate/creepy Lady Whumper, Creepy male whumper, fighting dehumanization, dark magic, forced to be violent, and the second half is trauma recovery and healing (Contains Implied noncon/r*pe)

A D&D Whump Story set in my world of Tsanet

This is a captivity story about a Tiefling slave held prisoner in a dark place by a criminal organization, and the uses they try to shape him to. He must balance obedience and survival with losing his selfhood and becoming what they would make him into- a monster.

The second part of this story is titled the Tiefling: Strange Brothers, and is a recovery story. You can find it on the same Masterlist, for ease of reading.

The Undying

Includes a very Bad Romance (toxic/abusive relationship our hero has to escape), a Yandere/possessive whumper, an escape in Winter, and immortal whumpee vs immortal whumper (Contains Implied dub/noncon/r*pe)

This prompt is what gave me the idea to make a Guard Dog Box Boy.

An unprincipled District Attorney decides to custom order one of those popular Box Boys to assist (and if needed to defend) her disabled daughter. A DA makes so many enemies, after all, and if anything happened to Alice...

Blackthorne Hall

Includes Vampire Whump, Modern AU, Immortal Whumpee, Supernatural shenanigans, no clear single Whumper As Such, contains War flashbacks and PTSD symptoms, blood frequently mentioned/shown.

Takes place in an Alternate Modern world, Gloucester, England, UK.

Featuring Henry Nightley, Lydia Nightley, and of course, Yves (pronounced by him as Ives)

Henry and Lydia Nightley have inherited their ancestral family home, along with a very odd servant- a very old vampire named Yves. They’ve also inherited the family career, and Yves says he can teach them how to succeed at it and stay alive.

Also featuring many glimpses into Yves’ strange and long life with the Nightley Family through the centuries, and what that’s made him into.

The Spellbinding

Includes Fantasy whump, Magic whump, a LOT of fighting, therefore some gore, assassins, mind control of a sort, bodyguard whump, lady whumper, “older” whumpee (30s), Stoic Whumpee

Featuring Fidelius, Lady Nadia Vasseral, and Others.

Yet Another D&D Whump Story set in my world of Tsanet

Fidelius is a guard bound to obey and protect the Lady Vasseral, and he obeys her in all things. What he can’t work out is why, or who he was before this became his only purpose in life? His past is a blur to him that he is trying to remember.

Guard Dog: Riley

Includes Modern AU, Box Boy content, flashbacks to Male Creepy Whumpers, recovery, PTSD, conditioning recovery, trauma whump, emotional whump, Past Noncon Referenced (not explicitly), Indirectly Implied dub/noncon alluded to.

This one has been written so you can skip the rougher Flashbacks and follow the links through only the present day Recovery Plot

Featuring Jesse Ramirez, a guy named Riley, Ashton and Brady the Rescue workers, and the Other Rescues, and memories of a bastid man called Curtis James.

Jesse Ramirez runs an illegal safehouse for the rehabilitation of former Human Pets, but one morning he brings home a very different rescue. A Guard Dog designation Pet, the type of Pet made into a security guard and brutal protector. One who has the capacity to kill. But is this one so different from the others?

Throughout Dune parts 1 and 2, groups of people are given musical themes, families are given musical themes, themes of the story are given musical themes. The Atreides have their theme, the Harkonens have their theme, with different instruments being assigned to these groups as well.

Here's the thing, though: individual people do not get themes. Not even Paul has a theme. I would argue that the Kwisatz Haderach has a theme, and Paul's journey has a theme, and eventually Paul's love story gets a theme, but Paul does not. This story is about more than individual people, it's about how people get swallowed up and lost in the tides of destiny and history.

There is one exception to this rule. There is one person who gets his own theme, because it truly is him as a thread through time that holds history together. But I think Hans gave him a theme (and reinforced it even after he died, such as when Paul did his salute when he was about to fight Jamis) for maximum emotional impact: so that when his ghola returns in Dune Messiah, we all weep like the soft lil creatures we are.

I could scream about the Dune soundtrack forever, dude. Like how Paul and Chani don't have their own themes, but they have their own instruments, the duduk and cello respectively, and their theme is a duet that blends those together until theme for Paul's journey starts playing the electric instruments of the Harkonnens. Or the fact that the Atreides theme plays when Paul invokes his father when he takes over the Fremen, but only for a second. I'm dying over here I'm DYING

As important as it was to contact Tumblr when they made that asinine, fucked up change, now that they've reversed it, you have a chance to say thanks for reversing it.

I know that you're probably still riding the high (negative) from the stress of going through yesterday's changes, and worrying about the fate of your community, and how badly the change would have affected creators. We banded together, and we let the staff know that we didn't like what they were doing, and you know what? They listened. That's part of why we're here on Tumblr and not other places that would have just shoved that down our throats regardless of the hundreds of thousands of complaints. Yeah, they fucked up. Big time. But they also backed off, and it's important to speak on that front as well if you want them to do it again later.

So, even though you may still be mad that they did it at all, take a moment and a breath, and click here. Select feedback if it isn't already selected. And just say "Hey, thanks for listening to your users, and for rolling back the change. I like my community here, and I like that you listened to us when we asked you not to do something we didn't like." It doesn't need to be elaborate. But if we want them to listen to us, making it worth listening to us is a step in the process.

Which also means that if you added a negative review somewhere due to this update, consider retracting or editing it to address the back track on the update. this may just be me going into overanalysis mode but i feel like the choreography of spellcasting can tell you so much about a magic user. a snap of the fingers, for example, implies confidence, even arrogance, while hands thrust out and straining to the fingertips suggests desperation, throwing one's whole body into the spell as though hoping the physical effort will make a difference. rapid, jerky body language tells you that a spellcaster is passionate and reckless, while graceful, fluid movements demonstrate calm and concentration. some magic users may choose to stomp their feet or clap their hands when casting, channeling power through percussive motion, whilst others may see magic as a tool separate from the self, and focus it through objects like a wand or staff. a new spellcaster just coming into their power may be tentative and slow, but a practiced study of magic will be able to rely on muscle memory to guide them.

lesser known PTSD things in whump

note; these are my personal experiences. i am clinically diagnosed with complex post traumatic stress disorder and also study psychology, and PTSD in general shows up very differently in all people. please be mindful of this information. --- anywho! many a times i see PTSD in whump and in general being represented as flashbacks, nightmares, avoidant behaviour, and so on which isn't wrong or exaggerated, just coming on here with some more symptoms or issues i don't see often, mainly physical manifestations. feel free to give your whumpees an even harder time <3 1. Trauma literally rewires the brain and its no joke. The amygdala is in overdrive constantly. Whumpee's always on edge. The hippocampus reduces in size, and boom, eventually you're losing your mind and your memories of what happened. Now whumpee has little to make sense of why they are the way they are, and whatever they recall is so blurred it's driving them insane. 2. Getting triggered by a smell, sound, even a sensation on the body, like the wind on the skin 'rubbing off' the wrong way and Whumpee's suddenly spiraling. What's worse is the moment itself is so distressing they disassociate before they can help it. It takes hours to come back to their own body and realize that they can't remember anything except feeling lost and terrified that they can't even calm down. And they don't even know or remember why. 3. Following up on the previous prompt, outsiders will have a hard time telling if Whumpee is upset, sleep-deprived or tired (could be!) or simply out of it. Eyes glazed over, expression slack. Maybe their eyebrows are furrowed slightly. They stare into the distance and only hum back responses or a few syllables. Later into the day, somebody asks them what they're angry about. Whumpee stops, and thinks. What are they even upset about? They don't know. 4. Just fucked up hormones in general :/ Effective for female whumpees, intense stress levels interfere with hormone production and can infact halt your menstrual cycle. Additionally, some studies also report that PTSD symptoms worsen during the menstrual phases. Not fun. 5. The immune system of a Victorian child. Falling sick way too often. Headaches that don't go away. Digestive issues that give a Whumpee stomach cramps every time they even try to eat (this varies a lot). AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES OF ANY SORT!! Alot more things that can wrong. LOTS of potential for non-whumper whump. --- all from me for now. based on some unfortunate experiences i've had in the past year :'). hope this helps someone or so
