Cold

The worst pain I have ever felt is loneliness.

The kind of loneliness that you feel one you’re in a crowded room and there is no one around for miles.

The kind that makes you want to stay at home so you won’t be so alone.

“But if you’re lonely you should go out and make friends”

So you go out again into the cold, barring the discomfort because it won’t last long.

But not warmth comes, you are still alone, and the discomfort becomes a blistering, piercing pain.

You cry out and wail but there is no one around

So you bare the pain and keep moving out into the cold

Until everything just goes numb.
