U STREET HAPPENINGS: What’s Good In Our ‘Hood 

Got the hump day blues? Look no further than Kostume Karaoke at Solly’s U Street Tavern, the perfect pick-me-up in the middle of the week. This event has one rule: if you want to sing, you need to be sporting a kooky costume. Fear not if your own closet is lacking, Solly’s has a large selection of accessories to you can use ranging from wigs to tutus.

The festivities begin at 8 pm on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month and if there happens to be a fifth Wednesday, 10% of bar sales will be donated to a local charity. Singing cheesy songs dressed in costume to support a good cause? It doesn’t get any better than that.

Whether you grace the stage in an outrageous costume or just feel like some good laughs as part of the audience, Solly’s is sure to deliver an action packed evening, making Wednesdays not seem so bad after all.
