Fucking Racists

SAE really fucked everything up around here. If you haven’t heard, OU Fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon had a video leaked of them chanting “There’ll never be a nigger SAE” in a song they have. They have been removed as a fraternity by both OU and their chapter has been revoked by their national HQ. But, this has caused a lot of problems for anyone associated with Greek life in any way. Many nearby greek houses were being threatened and maybe vandalized. They fucked everything up for all of us. I can say my fraternity is nothing like SAE. We are all about respect and I haven’t heard a bad thing about us. But now I don’t feel safe because of what SAE did.

Things are looking up, and a bit strange

So this semester is actually really nice, very low stress and I can actually have some breathing room in the workload. I met a few new friends in my classes, the coolest being this girl in my art history class who once lived in Dubai.

But the strangest of them all is that last Sunday, I pledged to a fraternity.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to ever do that. But these guys are very much the opposite of "frat" life. I joined Triangle Fraternity, which is only for engineers and Comp Sci. They are a very scholastically focused fraternity. My big is a cool dude that I have kinda known for a few years, I really only knew his girlfriend because she was my section leader in band freshman year. I really like the atmosphere, studying going on in a few rooms, video games in another, jiujitsu class going in in the basement. It is also helping me break out of the depressive antisocial shell I have been in for... a long time. Anyways yeah so I'm probably joining a fraternity fully at the end of semester.

WTF DUDE

My friend's mother seriously fucked up mine and her plans for this weekend. I bought tickets for me and a close friend to see a contemporary dance event at OU this weekend with the last of my money and then as I'm on the way to pick her up her mother changes her mind and says she can't go. Holy fuck that puts me out $50 and now I don't even want to go because I'm not going to enjoy it because I'm so pissed. At least I can go to my other friend's birthday.
