happy birthday to vash and knives!! this year i made nuis from scratch it was wild. i hope to take them on many adventures!!

tons of process photos under the cut. if you're interested in sewing nuis, i found tacute's tutorials and patterns extremely helpful! my nuis are highly modified, so i didn't follow tacute's instructions precisely, but it was the perfect place to start.

the first doll pictured is a prototype i made out of flannel, originally named target practice and now lovingly called busuvash (ugly vash). the final dolls are sewn out of short pile minky and all details are hand-embroidered with the help of water soluble markers and stabilizer fabric to keep the stitchwork clean on such a fussy fabric.

yes, knives turned out a little bit chubby. maybe he's pregnant! it would explain the unhinged delight in his eyes.
