while i have no doubt d&p will get married one day, i doubt it would happen any time soon? i think they'd want to plan something really nice and meaningful and i can't see them having the time to do that any time soon? i also don't think they'd want to deal with the attention that getting hitched so soon after coming out would get them from people outside of the phandom (though, who knows!! watch them get married in vegas tonight!! it wouldn't be the most they surprised me this summer!!! lmao)

you’re right, if they got married now then they’d get a LOT of attention from outside the phandom too. then again, i think that if they end up getting married, it’ll mean they’re okay with the attention for the sake of wanting to take that step.

i’m sure they’d want something meaningful and private, the vegas wedding is a fun theory but of course, it’s not happening haha. but i do want more fics written on it because it’s aaawesome.

i think that marriage is definitely not a top priority for them at all. i do think it will happen, but i honestly have no idea as to when at this point? after the entire month of june, i’m prepared for anything haha

Dan actually talked about marriage in a 2015 liveshow. He said some people didn't believe in the ceremony bc it's a Christian thing, but that marriage was representative of taking your relationship to the next level and that it was frustrating that gay people couldn't get married bc of the legal aspect of it. So it sounds like those might be his personal views on it. Who knows about Phil.

I think the only time we’ve heard Phil’s perspective on marriage was when Dan said, “ok, mr marriage is just a piece of paper.” He was clearly make fun of a stance Phil has and Phil laughed and blushed about it. It’s hilarious to me to think of Dan talking about friends getting married or waxing romantic about their own future and Phil just goes, “it doesn’t change anything Dan, it’s just a piece of paper.”

actually, dan was making fun of phil’s (earlier) comment on their sims game haha. it wasn’t related to a private conversation they had, or at least i don’t think so, given the context.

Do you think dan and Phil will ever get married?

omg yesss more marriage talk!! i actually had quite a bit of a discussion about this on my blog a few days ago!!

i’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but i honestly think they might get married one day. they can now that they’re out, and i think they’re both the type of person who might want to (but not desperately)

they’re probably not too bothered in either direction. when a couple’s been together for 10 years, marriage is just an addition to the commitment they’ve already made.

but you know… marriage can be useful as a document proving you’re a family, because society works like that, so i think that some common-law partnership at least is very possible?

so tl;dr i think they might, but even if they don’t, it doesn’t make their relationship any less valid because 10 years in, they’re already as good as married. but yeah i still think they might just for them.
