Hola! We're doing some gigs in January. There's facebook events for the Bristol & Worcester gigs and there'll be more details about the other two shortly...
Narcissism O’Clock
Hi, First off, thanks to everyone who came to our launch show. It was almost certainly the most fun we've had playing live and we can't thank you enough for the reception we got. We've had lots of positive reviews for 'Vigils', so far we've not had one stinker, which is nice for us. I'm not really sure what the point of posting up reviews of our stuff is but it seems to be something that bands do; it seems a bit self-congratulatory but I'd honestly post up any review we have whether good or bad. Frankly it's tremendously gratifying that anyone listens to us and takes the time to write about it, and for us it's interesting to know what people think about what we've done. If you're a magazine person, you can find a review of the album in the latest issues of Louder Than War and Rock Sound, and here's what we're aware of online in more or less chronological order: 1. Alt Dialogue are very keen and love dinner based lyrics 2. Shout It Loud enjoy the release 3. Stabbed Panda really really hate dinner based lyrics. Really hate them. But are otherwise very keen 4. The Mixed Tape humble us by saying we've released one of the best alternative rock albums in the last decade 5. Already Heard humble us further with more kind words 6. GIGsoup like it, particularly harmonies but don't think we're breaking new ground 7. Rock n Reel are fans 8. AltCorner think the record has a good half and a less good half, and there's welcome praise for lyrics invlolving dinner 9. Mosh like it, particularly the unpredictability of the music but are less keen on the repetitive lyrics. No particular mention of dinner though. I'm not sure if being compared to Mumford & Sons is something we'd like to encourage 10. The Verse are positive about ting 11. London In Stereo think we're so wrong we're right, without ever really revealing how we pull that off, but I think they like it. You decide! 12. New Noise Magazine say yay, and call us a disease in probably the only way that that could be a positive thing So there you go. If you want to make up your own mind about the merits of dinner based lyrics and listen to "a truly spectacular piece of work", then you can buy the album or download the album for free on our bandcamp page, or listen on spotify if you don't want to give us money/us to have your email address and send extremely occasional missives. Thanks to everyone who's bought or downloaded the album, and helped us out with it, it's been great. We'll be back in a few days with our no doubt eagerly awaited annual Yuletide blog. Until then, we remain your humble Skellies x

Some Skeletons Share 'Up On The Rocks' Snapchat Inspired Music Video
Taken From The New Album 'Vigils' - Out December 4th 2015
What The Press Are Saying?! "you'd be well advised to climb aboard before these guys truly set sail" - Rock Sound "Some Skeletons have grand ideas, veering between epic chugging riffs and Fleet Foxes-esque harmonies..." - KERRANG! "
There’s a grassroots resurgence in actual, good, melodic hardcore and the sort of emo that makes you think of Idlewild rather than slitting your wrists... Some Skeletons, is a great example."- Louderthanwar
Nottingham based trio, Some Skeletons have shared the Snapchat inspired music video for 'Up On The Rocks' - Taken from their debut album ‘Vigils’, which is to be released through Mountains Of Records on Friday 4th December 2015.
"The video came about because a few other ideas had fallen through and we needed to film something before James went away on holiday. After considering lots of terrible ideas we had to choose one of them, so decided to embarrass ourselves by performing to the song as we went about our day, and thus provide valuable insight into our specularly glamorous lives" says Aidan Blenkinsopp, guitarist of Some Skeletons. "We spent the day snapchatting each other and then assembled at James’ flat in the evening to film the opening of the snaps. Due to human error and indiscipline I had to refilm myself waking up, and Simon also had to take an impromptu morning shower at midnight. We didn’t really know what we we’re doing at the end, because that wasn’t the first beer we’d had that night."
Some Skeletons are an emotional, melancholic alternative rock band. Drawing influences from Idlewild, And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Mew, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins and Brand New. Some Skeletons have developed a sound that not only suits the individuals in the band but a sound that is big, bold, intricate and compelling. Having formed from the ashes of Thousands of Reflections in early 2011, the group, who all met at Nottingham University, are now planning for the release of their debut album, 'Vigils'. Originally, Some Skeletons were formed as a quartet, but due to changes in real-life circumstances, original guitar player, Adam, had to move away from Nottingham, and thus cut his involvement with the band in early 2013. The group set about going on as a three piece and started work on the new material for 'Vigils'. Songwriting was going well, but towards the end of 2013, James, the drummer, was knocked off his bike by a car and the incident was nearly fatal. It caused serious damage to his shoulder which meant he couldn't drum for several months, setting the writing process for the album back by quite some time. Thankfully, he's still around to tell the tale. 'Vigils' was recorded, mixed and produced at the University Of Lincoln by Luke Pickering. It was mastered by Troy Glessner at Spectre Studios, Renton, Washington USA. 'Vigils' is available on CD and Digital Download through Mountains Of Records from Friday 4th December 2015.

Up On The Rocks
Hi dudes, The lovely folk at Louder Than War are exclusively hosting our new video for a song called 'Up On The Rocks' from 'Vigils'. It's a song about a lovesick young man who find somethings in some rocks. The video features bare chests, cycling, running, swimming, battered phones and some beer amongst other things. Hope you like it and it whets your appetite for the album! Watch 'Up On The Rocks' over at Louder Than War Skellies x
