We no longer flee, we frolic!
My full piece for @novaandmali ‘s Classics! But Make it Gay III, is now available for preorder! I based my piece on underappreciated Scottish Symbolist artist, John Duncan.
This piece is very personal to me since I came out in a time full of fear.
I was scared, bullied by my abuser, and forced back into the closet, running from myself and my sexuality. I was taught by the adults around me to hide or face punishment or get hurt, or that I was wrong and unnatural. For years, I ran in fear from Eros and all they represent.
It took me years to finally accept myself and recover from the damage done, but I am happy to say that now I can invite Eros to join in my celebration of the self and others. Love is love! This piece is in dedication to all who once fled in fear, and who now cavort in joy!
