I just finished signing the paperwork to sell my house.

I am a middle aged woman who grew up in the backwoods of Arkansas.

I have been shot at, I have been within kissing distance of a copperhead twice -- nose to nose in one case -- I have stared Death in the face and watched Them pass me by on more than one occasion other than those three.

I have buried my father and my husband. Cleaned the latter up before the funeral home fellas took him, and lived through not one but two funerals for him.

I have done many, many hard and terrifying things in my life.

And even though I know I am making the right decision for me and for my family, even though I know that I am moving somewhere that is safe and where I will be loved, even though I know and I have told my Bee that 99% of everything we have to deal with in life is in our attitude about it, I am fucking terrified.

I am.

I didn't want this.

I wanted to stay here. At least for another few years.

But it's not safe anymore.

So.

On to the next Grand Adventure.

Thank all the gods, demons, angels and djinni that I have an amazing partner to help me.
