I'm thinking about Morven and Cressida again and I might be losing my mind-
I think Cressida sees a lot of herself in Morven. A fellow spellcaster who was unfairly punished when magic started to go wrong. Because in her mind, growing horns and being burnt at the stake is on exactly the same level. The two of them both have similar humour, pettiness and attitude. She struggled to connect to Robin because of their class difference, but out of all of team NW, Morven is the only other one who has the decency to act remotely civilised, closest to how her people at home were. She was so ready to clobber him over the head to get her.... friend may be pushing it, but ally back. To Cress, Morven is useful, relatable and familiar
But Morven? I have to wonder what she sees when looking at Cressida. Because both of them are magical, yes, but Morven was hunted and burnt alive for her innate sorcery, whereas Cressida is a Wizard. She was taught her magic and applauded for it. It was encouraged and celebrated where she was only ever punished for her powers. The only difference was Cress was born into a wealthy banking family, where Morven clearly wasn't. If anything, her airs and graces are both utterly impractical for the road, and far too reminiscent of certain groups of people that disapproved of her and her coven's lifestyle. That's got to hurt. A lot.
But I don't know, maybe the woman in the finery actively preferring her would heal something in her over time.
