44. Descendents with support from Something Something Explosion, Torquay Hotel 19/10
And so we made our way down the beautiful Surf Coast for the regional show the following day! I cannot say enough how happy I was that we chose this one over Sydney or Adelaide. This was the PERFECT room for them, way smaller and more intimate (and extremely hot, I have never sweated so much in my life I swear).
After chilling in the beer garden, missing out on meeting Stephen AGAIN from being too slow, and hearing an epic soundcheck featuring Carry You by ALL and One More Day, it was time to go in! Sadly Nursery Crimes had to pull out due to illness, but Something Something Explosion were especially cool the second time around. Singer Grace seemed so unbelievable stoked to be there, and Milo even came out to watch some of their set which we thought was super sweet!
When Rhino came out to stick the setlists to the stage I nearly had a conniption. They'd changed it up quite a bit and we got SUCH a treat! Kabuki Girl, Testosterone, Catalina, Grudge, and Fighting Myself all made their way into the set and somehow it went off even more than the previous night!
Milo was down in the crowd right from the start, and we were lucky enough to be able to sing into his mic for Suburban Home, I'm The One, and Thank You! It was so energetic, so hot, so sweaty and the amount of pure joy from absolutely everyone was just so cathartic and beautiful! You couldn't wipe the smile of anyone's face if you tried. I'm still on a high!! I'm so so thankful for the experience of the last two days and I really hope it's not another six years before they return to Australia...!
