Walking around the streets of New York City almost felt foreign to her after having been abroad so long. True, a month in the grand scheme of life was very little, but it was still enough to call for some lifestyle changes. Evelyn was thrilled to be back in the vicinity of her favorite cafe. Stopping there before going back to her office was an important priority in her book.
Just as she walked into the small cafe, a wide smile spread across her face. Steve Rogers sat at a table not too far from the cash register. This was the first familiar face she had seen since her leaving. Deciding to savor the moment, she walked up to the counter as if she hadn't noticed him and put in an order for a bagel with cream cheese and a mocha frap.
She politely paid for her order before swinging her messenger bag down in the seat across from Steve. "Well well well! Didn't expect to see you here! I thought I was the only one who knew about this place." It was almost surprising how much she missed his company.

Much like it was before... So much pain he's not sure what to do with it. Do you drink it away, or use it to do good? Do you hope it's not for forever, as it wasn't before, to save yourself from the pain? Well, since he can't get drunk, and he refuses to be naive anymore, he does the responsible thing, and buries it where it can't affect his work, his life, even as it tears his heart each day he's not there. Because it will never go away, the pain of not being able to save his only family.

Clint fired off one last arrow, making it sink with a Thud! into the target all the way down the range. He looked over to see Steve in the doorway and nodded, "You need something, Cap?" he asked, lowering his bow before turning to face him.

something-against-running replied to your post: And how do you know me? Or… Think you do. [kinda scowly, he doesn’t like this lookalike or his attitude much as of yet.]
[his brow furrows, and he cants his head slightly.] Oh…? Huh. Seems to be a pattern, because you just happen to look like a man I’ve known, uh, ‘bout 80 years know. [throwing that out there, to see what he makes of it.]
*Eighty years. To most, it would be a lifetime, blanching and looking like they might just fall over at the thought. To Caleb, though, he merely saved it off, seeming lost in thought* "Hm. Interesting . . . "
