A beam of light escaped the blinds of the windows in your small apartment bedroom. Your room was cold, especially when your boyfriend, Alex was on tour instead of lying beside you in the center of the mattress. You missed him, but you didn’t want to bother him by revealing your thoughts. It had been just over two months since Alex was home, due to him touring with his band, All Time Low, but you knew it would only be a few more weeks until he returned to your company. You rolled out of your only source of warmth and stumbled into the bathroom connected to your bedroom, readying yourself for a shower. The warm water fell from the shower head, bouncing off of your body and down the drain, but you soon find yourself drifting off into a deep thought.
He held out his hand as you sat on the ground, not remembering what had just happened. You rubbed the back of your skull with your hand and looked up at the tall man you had just walked into. The grin on his face grew when you grabbed his hand, and he helped you up apologizing for knocking you down.
‘My name is Alex,’ he said gently, still sort of holding your hand.
‘Victoria,’ you blushed and pulled away embarrassed. ‘I’m really sorry about that—‘ you were cut off by Alex’s soft voice.
‘No, it was totally my fault, I wasn’t looking. I need to make it up to you because a pretty girl like you deserves better,’ he looked down and chuckled a little.
‘No really it’s ok—,’ you were cut off again.
‘Would you like to go for some coffee with me?” his voice filled with hesitation.
Your best friend, Lauren took you to an All Time Low concert for a little 18th birthday present. She had wandered away to grab some food for the two of you, and you walked to the bathrooms, needing to release your juices. The band had already finished their set, so there was a line for the restrooms, but you continued to walk there anyway. Too distracted by a text you had just received, you walked right into someone. You let out a weak laugh remembering back to when you met Alex three years ago.
Blinking your eyes open, you finished your shower and entered the foggy steam that filled the bathroom. You got dressed, fixed your hair, and applied thick wings onto your top eyelid.
The stairs creaked as you made your way down to the kitchen to make some coffee before going into work. A pair of arms wrapped around your waist gently and you felt light breathing on your neck. You spotted the familiar rose tattoo on one of the hands grasping your hips, and turned to face toward his body. Your eyes shifted up past his soft, pink lips, up to the dark brown eyes that met your gaze.
Before you could say a word, he kissed your forehead and held you tightly in his arms. He was warm, holding your body in his arms without saying a word. You two stood in your kitchen silently in each other’s embrace for minutes before he finally spoke into your ear in a low, raspy voice.
“I missed you so much, baby,” he almost whispered. “I had to come see you, since the tour doesn’t end for like another month.”
You stayed silent in his arms, just snuggling your face into his chest, every time he spoke again. He led you to the couch in your lounge and motioned for you to sit next to him.
“Alex, I have—,”
“Don’t worry about work, I already took care of it.”
Alex grabbed a blanket and draped it over your bodies, lying perfectly entwined together on the couch. He turned on the television and you two spent the day watching movies and cuddling. You loved that about Alex; you didn’t have to do anything at all to be completely satisfied around him. It didn’t matter how you spent your day, you would be happy with the outcome as long as you could spend it with Alex.
You both drifted into a sleep in the middle of watching some dumb horror movie, but woke up from the sunlight creeping through the windows. Alex looked so peaceful when he slept, it was one of the many things you loved that about him.
Not being able to resist, you kissed his nose lightly, thinking he hadn’t felt it. His eyes fluttered open, connecting with your gaze, making you blush a little but.
“I love you more than anything, Victoria,” he laughed weakly.
“I love you too, Alex,” you lied your head back down on his chest, and felt his arms tighten around you.
