My controversial opinion is that oatmeal cookies are delicious but raisins are illegal. Cranberries are on thin ice and plain oatmeal cookies with pumpkin pie spice in place of some of the cinnamon and NOTHING ELSE no fruit no nuts no chips of any kind just tons of brown sugar, oatmeal, spices, and basic cookie ingredients, those are the superior cookie in every way. They're the perfect chewy texture and they taste like carmalized sugar and pie spices. This is the superior way to consume oatmeal. I'll die on this hill.
