And just like that, my Christmas tree is down and my living room is mostly restored to its usual configuration! I think I might need another box for decorations, though. And a stand for my plants. This is my first action this year for the January Cure, a project that Apartment Therapy runs every year in January to help you organize and declutter your house. Does anyone want to be my accountability buddy and do it with my this year?

I spent most of today with an absolutely terrific stress headache. so I am going to finish cooking dinner, watch Flyboys (2006) think about MOTA World War One AU, and call it a day. And maybe take a mental health day tomorrow. Or work from home. Or something.
Sometimes self care is cleaning your sock drawer and getting rid of all the ones with holes.
Sometimes self care is taking your day off to enjoy a pot of tea and chat with an old friend and write fanfic.
Decided to be crazy today and stop at the fancy cheese place on the way home. Specified how much cheese I wanted by saying 'Cheese plate for one!' which the lady behind the counter totally understood. So now I'm hanging out and eating my cheese and my cheap wine and paying bills and re-evaluating my savings goals and listening to the local folk station and life is pretty darn good from here.
Sometimes self care is cheese and crusty bread and some time with the finances, kids.
