"I don't understand the point in any of this." their meeting was one of complete chance, especially in the middle of the forest, though it would be more accurate to say he'd merely passed this way on a whim. sometimes curiosity worked in strange ways and not even the scribe is impervious to it as some may think.
and now, they find themselves perhaps a little too far in than necessary, walking for what seemed like at least an hour. exploring isn't something he opposes but... there is a limit. "is this not a good time to turn back?" they aren't lost (yet), far from it, surroundings such as these are one thing he's more familiar with, but when she mentioned taking in the scenery, he had no reason to decline. as long as she wouldn't ask any unrelated questions along the way because any will be met with refusal to answer.
