I’m getting the best of both world this year. Last year I was an attendee for the somm retreat at #tiwa. I’m volunteering this year. I’m fortunate (seems like I’m using that word a lot right now) to not only assist with the retreat side, but also being able to sit in on some incredible seminars. That’s a wrap, kids. A HUGE THANK YOU to @texsomiwa for letting me participate in the #sommretreat this year. Being probably the only one who not only fulfills the role of a somm at my day job, but also being a member of the wine media, I probably got the most value from the activities each day. These will help in many ways professionally and personally. It’s not just about the exam, but it’s still going to be relevant for it. In addition, my stay @fsdallas was amazing as usual. Probably my favorite hotel company. Granted I’ve only stayed at the one location, but I know it would be no different elsewhere. Arrived. Obligatory pic from my room. So love staying here. Did it in about 3.5 hours. Even drove through Austin. About the only time I actually drive through Austin is at 7am on a Sunday.
