Somnis/Dreams Canons:

1. He became the God of Knowledge by accident. His curiosity was sparked by following the higher thoughts and dreams of some of the smartest people of time. He would sit with them and discuss things, and it only made him more curious. This curiosity allowed him to learn more of the world and continue to follow the knowledge of humans on Earth, allowing him to become a god of knowledge in the eyes of the people. 

2. He seems very low energy, especially when not in the dream realm. He may be a god of knowledge but even he needs encouragement to actually get to work. 

3. Because of his status as Knowledge god, the other gods will often come to him looking for advice and views into the future. He can’t predict the future but will trade information he knows and advice for offerings. He had to start charging them because they wouldn’t stop asking him silly questions 

4. He was the one that gave Lumentis his cloak of the night as a gift. Lumentis wanted some time to himself so he made his brother a way to hide from even the gods. 

5. Somnis is able to conjure things into existence in the dream world, and in the real world he is able to put even gods into a deep slumber, Despite this, the dream realm is not fully under his control, he merely protects it. 

6. He doesn’t visit Earth very often, mostly only speaking and visiting to humans in dreams if they have asked for him and he finds their blight and offering worth is time. 

7. Out of all the four, he is the most physically weak in the real world. In his realm he is much stronger, but in the real world he is out of his element. 

8. Out of all the gods, he is the most mysterious to the others. Lumentis seems to know the most about them since they often work together. But Umbris and Diris often seem to disregard him as a tired god who reads to much. 

9. His favorite offering to receive is sweets, knowledge and bounties of the harvest. 

10. Despite never really going down to Earth, he has an immense respect for humanity that few gods have, not thinking of them as equals persay, but as seperate beings that rely on one another, symbiotic creatures that are different in their strengths and weaknesses.

They have constantly hunted him down because of the Dream God Somnis. He’s unintentionally become a Patron of Knowledge, and charges them food or more knowledge to get Lumentis’ location. 

Somnis himself wants to help Lumentis more, but he has to keep control in the Dream Realm as well as he enjoys working with people in their dreams and learning more. He’s not very good at getting motivated. 

Don’t worry, Somnis is about to get dragged into this.
