So a recent Xmas tradition of mine is a commissioned piece from a fanartist I like. This year I got @eclipse-song to draw @dangerouscommiesubversive and myself in Sentai sonas and I’m delighted with the result! In the new year, the plan is to print and frame it, but I couldn’t wait to share. Below the cut is a quick explanation, because we couldn’t just put ourselves on our favorite teams, we had to think of what teams we fit on best. We are inescapably geeky.

“The branches reach, the roots grasp. Forest ninja, Hurricane Black!”

So I was a bad student who kept getting into the Gifted and Talented track, which made me a good fit for the Hurricangers. I figure my place in the team dynamic is to be the one worried about strategy. That’s a bear on my chest, if you were curious.

“The well-read adventurer, Bouken Violet!”

Commie was keen to point out that there wasn’t a dedicated folklorist on the Boukengers and as she put it, “I like it when my boss is clear with direction,” so Akashi’s way of giving orders wouldn’t be an issue.
