𝓔very element of VARANG'S COSTUMES reinforce her power and the (Mangkwan) clan's fractured relationship with Eywa, Pandora's spiritual entity. She's more refined than other member's of the Mangkwan. Her buugeng sticks feature jagged blades, which is made from volcanic glass. Her dramatic headdress, which demands both attention and respect, is a signifier of her stature. The merciless leader who will do anything for her people.

As you may know, many of the effects in Fran Walsh and Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies were practical, not CGI. That included physical models of most of the locations, called "big-atures" (because they were much bigger than the word "miniature" would imply). Which brings us to today's poll:
You have been left unsupervised in the Weta Workshop warehouse with a very large wagon. Which 'big-ature' do you attempt to steal?
Rivendell
Moria
Lothlorien
The Gates of Argonath (the statues of the kings on the river)
Helm's Deep
Minas Tirith
The Black Gate
Orthanc (Saruman's tower in Isengard)
Barad-dûr (Sauron's tower in Mordor)
:O I would NEVER steal something so important and precious!
:O I would NEVER steal something so hard to fit in my living room!
Other (???, specify in notes)
Finally time for another coffee painting from the archives! This time, it's Radagast's turn (and Gandalf's, to a lesser extent)
The first painting took me months to finish, as it's a tiny painting with an insane amount of details. The second was unfortunately a bit rushed, but I wanted to make a portrait for Sylvester McCoy, when he came to visit a convention in Sweden. He was pleased to receive the original, as you can tell ;) Made with instant coffee on heavyweight paper, as per usual.
Everybody shut the fuck up a minute. I need your full attention. Peter Jackson and WETA are cruel bastards. We already have Boromir’s gauntlets haunting story. Must we have this arrow in our chest too? Was this anguish necessary?
Ahhhhhh!! Ah. My heart.
Let me put them side by side.
Do you see it? Do you see it?
