Definitely not thinking of giving Movie!Sonic trauma to justify him hating water, definitely not thinking of him just casually mentioning it to Tom, Maddie and the others. Definitely not going to absolutely wreck Tom and Maddie (and others) but I will use it to get him to take lessons with Shadow later on. Yes, yes. The ideas are cooking in my brain (someone please save me this AU I'm planning already has 10 stories and 2 of them are AUs of said stories!)

AND would metal also have soulmates or is he too robotic for that??? speaking of robots do the badniks play a part in the whole soulmate plot or are they just regular silly things like in the movies / most aus ??

See this one's a little trickier to answer tho bc the fourth movie - which is set to feature both Amy and Metal - hasn't been released yet and all we have is that after-credits scene to go off of. As much as I would love to include the both of them, I'm not certain where I'd place them yet! This goes for other Sonic franchise characters I hold dear as well, such as Rouge and Omega, and Sage

Sonic and Amy would definitely be soulmates of course - not in a romantic sense, but in the ride-or-die besties sense. In this au, Sonic has the most soulmates out of the entire group, with Shadow and Ivo close behind. I imagine that for the majority of his life, Sonic will just have this slew of unidentified markings because up until he reaches his final moments, he will keep meeting new people that will change his life forever, people who he'll affect forever in return

Sonic and Shadow are soulmates! In the romantic sense, this time (sonadow has been my otp since I got my first Sonic game at age 8 haha). They find that out during the moon scene for this au! Ofc how they get there is much different in this au, but I have yet to work this out

Shadows soulmates as discovered by the end of the SM3 plot are: Gerald (almost immediately upon awakening after creation) -> Maria (almost immediately upon introduction) -> Stone (as explained by the previous post) -> Sonic (during their heart-to-heart on the moon)

Though I don't know much about how Metal will be utilized as either a character or antagonist in the cinemaverse yet, I do like to think that in a villain!stone soulmate au world, he would have the ability to scan for and detect different soul marks - all with Stone's hope that one day he'll find Ivo again. Probably not how this au will turn out though! I'm not sure if robots can have soulmates in this au but that doesn't mean they can't form life-changing long-lasting relationships <3

I could see the badniks being utilized similarly as above - Stone probably found Ivo's blueprints for such a scanner that were ultimately scrapped by the Doctor because he was terrified that if he sought out his soulmates they would reject him. That could still be a thing in this au! I like the idea

As for Ivo ever getting over his denial....... 👀 well we'll just have to see, won't we? Perhaps it starts out a little innocuous. Perhaps it's an all-at-once thing. Maybe a little bit of both! I'll never tell /silly

I love that ship. At first (like in the pilot) I used to ship Alastor with Sir Pentious, but after the four long years of no longer being interested in the ship and the show FINALLY came out, I’m started to love the ship. I mean, when I think about it, it’s like a weird different version of Sonadow (blue/red color wise. Maybe that’s why. Idk)
