Decided to answer those Mega Man + Robot Master Development Questions (made by mechanicalgarden) for Sonatawoman, i'll probably do my other characters I rp as eventually, probably Coldman.
What’s your character’s backstory? Does it follow canon, is it fanon-based, or is it your own creation?
Sonatawoman is my own creation. She was the last creation of Dr. Elegy, who died after a short period after. The other Elegy bots were left with taking care of her. A couple of the, grew a rather unpleasant relationship with her because they associate her with the death of Elegy.
She was mistreated by two of the Elegy bots while being spoiled and protected by the rest of them. Eventually she matured enough to act for herself, despite still being overprotected by most of her siblings.
When they were called to be shut down because of losing the connection to their purpose after Dr. Elegy died, Sonata was the only one to refuse to help the oldest Elegy bot Orcaman after he freed them from their fate. Because of it, he threw a fit and almost destroyed her, but she managed to escape and finds it hard to return to them.
Who is your character loyal to and why? What about in 10 years from now? Will they have changed loyalty?
Sonata, with her creator passed, and no longer wanting to depend on her siblings, really has no one she is loyal to. If anyone, it is to herself. Although sometimes, she is unable to do so, which upsets her.
Who, if anyone, is your character’s rival and why?
No prominent rival at the moment, but if I were to pick someone that was remotely like that, maybe her sister Parasolwoman. She is someone she constantly tries to impress or get close to, but is constantly shot down.
If your character could have any one thing, what would it be and why?
Maybe an ear to listen to her performances.
Choose a few robot masters from lines different from your character’s whose weapons would be effective against them and explain why.
Her weakness I put in RMRP was Shademan's Noise Crush. Destructive noise waves are enough to dither her own weapon and Sonata herself.
Any water-based RM would be effective too because her speaker stomach is a huge target.
Choose a few robot masters who your character’s weapon would be effective against and explain why.
Harmony Cleave is literally a blade formed out of music and energy, so anyone affected by slicing and dicing would be weak to it.
What are your character’s hobbies? What inspired them to pursue them?
Other than obviously instrument playing, she's picked up knitting, not only because it reminds her of Stitchman, but because it keeps her fingers busy like when she plays instruments.
Does your character eat? If so for what occasions and what are their preferred foods?
She eats for enjoyment, and when she does she likes eating dry things. Sonata doesn't mind liquids either, as long as she isn't holding the beverage anywhere near her speaker. She can't stay away from a good bottle wine when she can get her hands on it.
Does your character have hair? What’s it like?
Yes! It's very poofy, curly, and white.
Is there another robot master your character secretly admires?
Wwwwwell.. maybe just one...
If your character could eliminate any robot or human from the face of the earth, would they? Who would it be?
There is no one that she knows of.
Does your character engage in any behaviors that could be considered uncharacteristic? What are they?
Sometimes, only if under a big deal of stress. And sometimes she can even crack under pressure, but it's rare.
Who is someone your character cares about a lot and why?
Other than the Elegy bots, no one in particular. Well except one
What is your character’s view on their line? Do they see their line as siblings, cousins, or something else?
She definitely sees the other Elegy bots as siblings. They've taken care of her so much even when she was a crybaby during the beginning stage of her life. Even though some of them have treated her terribly, she still worries and cares for them because they have their own problems.
Which line, if any, does your character feel superior to?
Haha, superior, that's funny.
Is there a line your character feels inferior to? Is this common knowledge?
She might or might not feel inferior to most lines, but it wouldn't be to their power. It'd be most likely to how they act as a bot.
What weapons does your character utilize? Are they from their original game, side-games, manga or comic adaptations, fanon, something else?
Because she is a fan character, it's something else. But it is just like a basic original game weapon. Harmony Cleave as described before it a blade that can be shot (or swept) in the air, and it is composed of music and energy. If it was in a game it's be able to shoot diagonal and forwards.
What’s the reasoning behind your character’s like and dislike?
Sonata likes wandering about listlessly because she takes in many sights and sounds, and it gives her inspiration to play (or in the rare occasion, compose) music.
While Sonata dislikes swimming because of her fear of water. As mentioned before her speaker stomach is a great way to get into her system, so if water to get into their, she'd probably short-circuit. Plus she is not the most coordinated bot in the world when it comes to moving her whole body.
Do they have a humanform beneath their armor? A different form?
She does have a human form, but her joints are similar to doll joints.
What are some of their worst memories?
When Orcaman became worse in his physical abuse towards her and then almost destroyed her when she rejected him. Also when Parasol lashed out at her for the first and last time.
What are some of their fondest memories?
Even though she didn't know Dr. Elegy for a very long time, her fondest memories would be playing music for him as he sat at his desk doing work.
Who are some robots they like being around? Any humans?
She pretty much likes being around anyone who don't mind her. Sonata is tolerant of many kinds of robots and people.
Who would they die to protect?
Her siblings, and anyone she has grown close to or fond of.
What is their sexual orientation, if any? What emotional capabilities, as far as love is concerned, were they programmed with? How far does it extend?
Out of all the Elegybots, Sonata is the one with the most detailed emotions. All the other Elegybots are capable of feeling love, but Sonata's understanding goes a little deeper. Because of it, she is much more vulnerable and does anything for whoever she loves. Sonata pretty much can be attracted to anyone who shows interest.
What is one of their most famous sayings or philosophies?
...I got nothing this time sorry!! (probably cause i can't think of any off the top of my head)
What are some of their personality quirks?
She quickly gets ultra interested in something or someone the minute music is brought up, like can't stop staring at you interested.
Even though she was built to only play classical music, she still delves into genres, so she tries her best to understand them and displays her interest in them in many ways including the strange ways.
Sonata tries to be cheerful about her clumsiness. She might not smiling about it at first, but she'll most likely be laughing about it later on.
If they could choose any color for their armor, what color would they choose?
If any color, she'd probably choose an even more neutral/cooler/paler version of her color. But a beige color also might be nice.
Do they want any kind of emotional or aesthetic changes? What’s something they strive for as far as appearance or actions are concerned?
Sonata is a little self-conscious and wary of her frail, doll-jointed body, so maybe she'd want a more sturdy body to conceal them.
Do they have a lot of friends, or figures they’d consider close to them? What about those they don’t get along with?
Sonata only has a couple friends if not any friends at all. She sometimes questions how they feel about her because she wonders if she is actually being a good friend. When around those she doesn't get along with, she tries her best to be polite, but still disagrees with them.
What would be your character’s reaction to being defeated, possibly permanently, in battle?
Depending on the situation it'd either end in tears or a peaceful close of the eyes and smile.
