Sonelise Week - Day 6 - Hades and Persephone

Once upon a time, when the Gods still reigned the world, they were divided into two great species.

There were the Beast Gods, also called Mobian Gods, and the Human Gods, these sides were in a constant war to decide which species would conquer the whole world.

But not all gods were in favor of war, and they suffered for it ...

There was a Human Goddess, called Persephone, she lived on the surface, the world of the living, and in a human territory. Persephone felt lonely and sad, because her family was very focused and alert to the war. Something she hated with all her heart "You're a Goddess, someday you'll understand, and you'll have to fight too, you have to be a strong Goddess who does not cry for these things," her mother said. The mere thought of having to go to fight one day terrified her.

Meanwhile, in the underworld of the Beast Gods, the land where the dead animals and mobians lived, there was the guardian and protector of this land, the beast god of the underworld, Hades. He was also a lonely being, but kind to the souls of the animals and mobians he protected.

Seeing how many of these came to his land because of the war caused him great pain and sorrow. Many times he tried to convince the other Beast Gods to stop the war, but it was in vain. They were too proud and resentful to surrender, and they ordered him to continue his duty to protect the souls of the dead.

Hades listened for a while ... But one day, that ended, he decided that he would no longer tolerate the whole issue of war, he would go out to fight for the freedom of all, and his own.

But because he wanted to go outside, when he went to the world of the living for the first time, impulsively, he ended up in human territory, and there he saw her...

He saw the first Human Goddess of his life, a young, beautiful, sad, and lonely goddess who with her only caressing on the grass, made flowers grow as beautiful as her. Hades could not believe that such a being was his enemy, a creature so beautiful, delicate, and pure could be a danger to himself and the world ... Definitely, the war was wrong.

He approached her with extreme care, Persephone noticing his presence, she was scared, but helpless. Immediately, Hades presented himself cordially "Forgive me, I'm not going to hurt you, nor do I want to do it, I'm Hades,Beast God of the Underworld of Animals and Mobians, I've come to the world of the living for the first time because I want to interfere in the war, and stop it ... I'm sorry, can I know what your name is?"

Persephone did not know how exactly, but she saw in those big eyes honesty and kindness ... and immediately felt confidence in that being, who had been told so much that he was her mortal enemy, a danger to herself and the world ...

"Persephone, my name is Persephone," she replied with some shyness.

"Persephone ..." he repeated with a smile, kneeling on one leg on the floor and extending his hand towards her. "What a beautiful name…"

She watched his hand carefully, extended hers slowly resting slowly on top of his.

"You're so cold ..." she said in a low voice "almost like a corpse..." and watched him out of the corner of her eye.

"Oh yeah…? Your hand is very warm ... it's the first time I feel so... alive " he answered without taking his eyes from hers.

Persephone smiled, something she had not done in a long time.

That was how they had started hanging out secretly every day, to the point that Hades, being in the world of the living, his fur, skin, and body temperature had begun to change. They told each other stories that were told of their families, how they felt about the war, or simply talked about themselves. They were both very happy together, and they fell in love.

But it was a matter of time before the other gods realized it. The underworld of the Mobians no longer had its guardian so pending, which caused that the souls that inhabited there began to get out of control and to escape, thus causing anomalies in the world. Meanwhile, Demeter, the mother of Persephone, had noticed the sudden absence of her daughter during the last days, which made her worry greatly, and had gone to tell the news to her husband, Zeus.

It was then that one day, while Hades and Persephone rested together under a tree. Hades heard someone approach from a distance, and realized that it was Demeter. Immediately, he awoke Persephone, she very tired and confused asked what happened. "Persephone, I love you more than anyone in this world, please escape with me, and let's get married," he said firmly. Persephone smiled very happy, and shouting "Yes!" She hugged him tightly, and together they went to the Underworld in a blink.

Demeter got to see how a Beast God was taking his daughter, which made her scream and cry of despair, and immediately informed the other Human Gods. The Beast Gods learned of what happened and tried to contact Hades, but he ignored them and still did not take care of his duties as a Guardian God. Because of this, Beast Gods and Human Gods met to try to reach an agreement and clarify misunderstandings. The Beast Gods defended themselves by saying that they would never kidnap a helpless young woman, but the Human Gods obviously did not trust them.

Then suddenly, Hades and Persephone came to the meeting, leaving both sides highly stunned. "Your war is a nonsense full of hatred and greed! The love that Persephone and I have is the proof that Mobians and Humans can live together in the same world! Right now we are happily married! "He shouted at everyone present firmly. "Mother, Father, he is the love of my life" added Persephone "I have never been happier than I am now, please stop this war that only causes us pain and sorrow, we can coexist in the same world if we respect the territory of each one instead of trying to snatch it, please I begging you, let's stop this no sense "

Both sides of the table were perplexed and silent, and they observed both leaders, the god Zeus and the Great Beast God. They looked at each other and nodded. Zeus got up from his chair and declared "Our children got married, it seems, now it makes us family ... In all these years I have been blinded by prejudice, resentment and greed, I had forgotten that the most important thing in the world It's love and respect. " The Great Beast God got up and added "Day, Night, Light, Darkness, Life, Death, everything is part of the same universe that coexists in harmony ... Mobians and Humans are part of the same world, with the same capacities and values ... I blinded myself to believe that I, as God of the Earth, had the absolute right over this world ... "

"But ...!" Zeus interjected "You both committed a great act of selfishness and imprudence! Persephone, having escaped, you submerged your mother in great pain and sorrow, causing her to feel no encouragement to take care of the earth, now our people are suffering from hunger! You must have told us about this from the beginning! " Persephone wanted to defend herself by apologizing that she had shown her disagreement with the war before and that they had always ignored her. But the Great Beast God interrupted her severely. "And Hades, because you neglected the world of the dead, the souls of these are more furious than ever, you put us all in danger"

Hades nodded "I understand, I admit that I let myself be carried away by love, that can also blind us all, I will accept whatever punishment you want to give me, but please, end the war, and let me live my life with my Persephone " Zeus and the Great Beast God looked at each other, and moved away from the place to reach an agreement. Everyone waited expectantly ... When the great Zeus and the Great Beast God returned, they announced their agreement. "It's a powerful message you two gave, but we can not let your mistakes go, because you have also done a lot of damage to both families," Zeus said. Hades and Persephone were firmly prepared. "We decided that we would allow you two to be together half of the year, but in the other, Persephone should return with her mother to contribute to the care of the land." said the Great Beast God. The lovers felt devastated, but they understood, and they accepted.

This is how peace returned to the world, Hades and Persephone would be together, but they also had to reward the great damage they caused, being separated for 6 months of every year... During the time they were together in the Underworld, Demetér became depressed, which caused the earth to produce less food than usual in human lands ... But when Persephone returned to her, they worked together to make the earth come alive, producing more flowers and fruits in the environment. Love can cross barriers, but just as it can bring peace in the world, it can also cause some damage ... Love requires sacrifices.

I have surrendered to continue trying to be at day of these things. I'm sorry for the bad English, I wanted to publish this once and for all, I have not been mentally very well these days, whatever.

As I did not know what the hell the myth of Hades and Persephone had to do with Sonic and Elise (I mean, Sonic/Elise kidnapping the other and forcing her/him to get marry wtf). So I felt obliged to rewrite the myth in my style. It is written cheesy and something ridiculous on purpose, trying to make it look exaggerated and childish, as many of these myths are.

I will try to upload two more drawings to finish this correctly.
