          Mark had never exactly had much of a chance to speak to Victoria. With how busy her schedule was--which usually happened in China--he had rarely seen her ever since he debuted last year. He found it a big shock when he suddenly received a video call from her but he was quick to answer it, nonetheless. The conversation started out a bit awkward on his part. He was stiff, extremely polite with his answers while she was more relaxed with hers--which was natural since she was the senior between them. “Thank you for the word of encouragement and advice, sunbaenim!”, he replied with a smile, “I’ll be sure to remember all that you’ve said with Dream’s comeback coming up.”

Well, it goes without saying that I find you very beautiful so it was a personal struggle to find just one that I really liked. This one is elegant yet very natural looking. Like it’s not forced. And then I chose this one because that lip color-- oh. It’s nice. It reaaaally works for you, noona.

          FINGERS SWIPE ALONG THE CORNERS OF his eyes, wiping away the perspiration that only serves as an annoyance at this point. features remain pale from the brief spell of lightheadedness that has grounded him for the time being, and he’s unable to meet the older woman’s gaze as she chides him for not listening sooner, instead sinking down to completely lay upon the floor near the back wall of the practice room. “yeah, i know,” a sigh billows from his lungs, giving his acknowledgement an almost bitter sound. more than anything, it’s not because victoria had been proven correct, but because of his limitations that he has been forced to consider. 

he could keep going, keep practicing… but making himself ill would only set him back even further.

taemin’s hand blindly reaches for his water bottle that he had left nearby, at first meeting the cool exterior before it topples over. he takes it, drawing it close, and brings it to press against his forehead. it’s cool, soothing the heat of dancing for far too long. “i’m okay, though,” the reassurance is followed by his gaze finally flickering towards her, offering a smile to ease her worry. “this isn’t the first time you’ve seen my like this, right?” after so many years of being apart of the same company, they have indeed seen plenty of each others’ ups and downs.

When compared to his father he could be considered an angel. The man had a temper and Changmin was thankful he didn’t inherit that. He took a deep breath in, trying to calm his nerves after having the door opened on his face by a newer intern, resulting in the beautiful bloody nose he was sporting. What’s worse was he just received the sweater he was wearing already had dark crimson on the collar. The floor called to him from the sudden dizzy spell and he sunk back against the wall and settled there until the flustered intern returned to him.

Changmin tilted his head back and looked up at the ceiling while he waited for the intern to come back with tissues for him, but when he was greeted by the familiar face looking down at him he could feel himself heating up from embarrassment. “Ah-- noona, I can take care of it myself. Don’t worry,” the words came out muffed as his hand covered over his nose and mouth. His other hand reached up for the wet cloth and it was quickly snatched back as Victoria came down to his level and started taking care of the wound. The younger of the two silently cursed himself for his immediate reaction of flushing, knowing she could see it instantly. He already knew no matter how much he protested she most likely wouldn’t let him take care of it this time in her presence and he’d honestly do the same for her.

    ↪ victoria couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled from her lips as her friend and colleague did his best to vehemently deny any involvement in the skin tight, leather outfits. a knowing smile soon replaced the laughter, a teasing note apparent in her voice. “oh really? are you sure about that?” she questioned as she wiggled her eyebrows. “you sure you didn’t enjoy all the screams and cat calls of your fan girls? i wouldn’t blame you if you liked it.”

        she let her words sit with him for a moment, leaning back to take a triumphant sip of her soft drink, an arched eyebrow appearing as she took in his facial expression. “i was right, wasn’t i? you did like it!”

“I-- please,” the exasperated sigh slipped from Changmin’s mouth quicker than any other protest to the matter could. “That costume officially takes first place in the worst. The second place is now our Keep Your Head Down promotion costumes... ugh.” To him, nothing could possibly beat those rugs for coats they wore with the most abstract of patterns-- but the fans loved them. ...Just like how they loved the skin tight leather outfits and matching ensemble they sported that day. A visible, but exaggerated, shudder shook over his tall and lean frame, although his smile could be seen poking through his ‘disturbed’ facade.

“Okay, so maybe I liked it,” Changmin looked over to his elder, about ready to tease her right back. “I bet you and the other fangirls enjoyed it more than we did. Are you sure you weren’t joining the cat calling?” The playful nudge added to the mood, he chuckled and looked over at Victoria; a genuinely amused smile was already brushing over him. “At least lie and say you did, okay?”
