When you first meet Frank, you’re struck by his radiating warmth and immediately grasp how aptly he was named as genuine and good. Uncovering the vast array of talents, ideas, and projects of this modest soul takes a little longer: Songsicle founder, Picsicle, StartupThreads, SongVoodoo, and SingSend builder, Startup Digest curator, Microintern mentor, and hiphop maestro – to name a few! Then, once you really get chatting, you might end up discussing hope, happiness, ethics and Kantian moral philosophy. Truth be told, it’s kind of a categorical imperative that you meet Frank - you might even get a hug :)!
Until then, take a peek into Frank’s Oworld:
How I came to Ohours…
I first heard about Ohours when Nate [Westheimer] tweeted so I checked it out and saw some interesting people. Also, if you sit in a two-hour meeting, only about 15 minutes of that time is productive. Ohours is really productive for me because I can block a chunk of time every Friday and meet people for 20 minutes. Plus, I like meeting people! I’m even excited about a no-show because I get an extra 20 minutes free.
The first person I met…
Walter Chan from IDoneThis (via Skype)!
A favorite chat…
Whitney Hess - she’s a UX God! We share an old friend from Carnegie Mellon and we had a great conversation. In fact, I tried to meet her a second time but she was saving the slot to meet someone new!
Why I’m a fan…
Ohours is targeted - it shows me people I’m looking for based on interest. Most of all, it is convenient. I hate email so it’s great that I can post my own hours via the calendar system at my leisure. After a story in Startup Digest, for example, it was easy for people to find me on the site and sign up for my Ohours.
What I’d like next…
Just to connect and meet more new people – specifically targeted to my interests, of course!
