I always find it weird about how they are many female characters on the good side than on the villain side. It is not just IDW but other medias like Sticks, Professor Tori, and Trip, since we haven't had a new male hero for a while, and the recent good-side males are just support, like Don and Nite. The recent male characters on the good side besides IDW were Silver and Chip.

I feel like I think it is time for a new male hero, even if it's just one. Similar to how they should be more female villains.

I don't complain about the focus on more heroines in general, since before it was... VERY lackluster. Like painfully lackluster. But also,, i wouldn't complain about having a new male hero, I think that'd be pretty cool and awesome... And the female villain side of the franchise is DRYYYYY. Enigma is awesome! Come on, give me more of that! More women being evil!!!

you brought up sage is being parentified in her relationship with eggman and i think that's another thing which makes her as a parallel with similarity to maria

i saw a comment that remarks about shadow being immature and he'll learn in regards to his line from shadow 05 in "Like taking candy from a baby"

then another comment was like "even cream have more experiences than him and i'd suggest he needs a mentor but he's too prickly to put up with that kind of relationship"

then it made me realize how shadow is so reliant on thinking about maria and his promise to her because she's literally the only person that he have as a guide reference to do stuff

maria wasn't just his friend and sister, she by all accounts was also his mother figure by how she definitely had to raise and taught him stuff during his time at the ark alongside with gerald together thus maria was basically parentified in her relationship with shadow since do note maria is a preteen at around 12 years, this 12 year old girl had to be the mom to the ultimate lifeform

and it's repeating sage of her being parentified when it comes to having to take care her grown ass adult creator

I haven't thought about Maria and Shadow that way. You're absolutely right, she was, by all means, sort of Shadow's second caregiver. How long did Shadow ACTUALLY live in the ark anyways? A year? Two? AT MOST I'd say 4 and that's pushing it. Yeah maybe he was made already having the mind of a teenager/young adult/whatever the fuck you hc Sonic's age as, but he factually really only lived and experienced a couple of years before getting frozen in time. And, while I don't think Gerald was evil to him back there, in fact he was likely at least a decent father to Shadow, no doubt all of Shadow's emotional issues were handled by Maria

... You know, like a mother would do to a child confused about the world... Like how a mother would raise and thought a child what's right or wrong... And doing that at 12 years old...

... The amount of cycle of abuse happening in the Robotnik family line HAS to be studied, because it's not only them, it's Metal too. Because, if you think about it, Eggman is to Metal the same way Black Doom was to Shadow. That family really has only 4 plot lines that keep repeating over and over again...
