You wrote poems for her in your own blood
Sonnet 11 by William Shakespeare (read by Alex Jennings)
As fast as thou shalt wane, so fast thou grow'st In one of thine, from that which thou departest; And that fresh blood which youngly thou bestow'st, Thou mayst call thine when thou from youth convertest. Herein lives wisdom, beauty, and increase; Without this folly, age, and cold decay: If all were minded so, the times should cease And threescore year would make the world away. Let those whom nature hath not made for store, Harsh, featureless, and rude, barrenly perish: Look whom she best endowed, she gave the more; Which bounteous gift thou shouldst in bounty cherish: She carved thee for her seal, and meant thereby, Thou shouldst print more, not let that copy die.

The Number 11.
11 TRACKS EACH ALBUM (when previously, each series’ soundtracks were a culmination of all the episodes into one disc)
TRACK 11 ON TAB’S SOUNDTRACK IS CALLED TWO OF US.
Just the two of them (two 1′s)
The 11 showing up at the end of TAB on the bus.
The sign Sherlock makes for “we’re together” in TAB looks like two #1′s.
Noteable uses of The Number 1 showing up in TBB:
A message was left at 11:34
A train ticket printed at one
Horizontal Line = Chinese #1 = £1
One Teapot is Shiny, the other is not
One smuggler stole something, the other did not
One book has all the codes
The murderous assassins in town for One night only
page 15, Entry 1
“I’m Sherlock Holmes and I always work alone!” - John Watson exasperated at Sherlock for leaving him behind
Take what you want of those to formulate a meta, then :D
Anyway, it’s almost like Sherlock doesn’t want to be a single number anymore... two single numbers look / work better together. I think 11 is important somehow. Numbers are important on this show, and 11 is showing up FAR too much lately.
EDIT: With all these number things coming up, I even checked to see what Sonnet 1 and Sonnet 11 was:
SONNET 1
From fairest creatures we desire increase, That thereby beauty's rose might never die, But as the riper should by time decease, His tender heir might bear his memory: But thou, contracted to thine own bright eyes, Feed'st thy light's flame with self-substantial fuel, Making a famine where abundance lies, Thyself thy foe, to thy sweet self too cruel. Thou that art now the world's fresh ornament And only herald to the gaudy spring, Within thine own bud buriest thy content And, tender churl, makest waste in niggarding. Pity the world, or else this glutton be, To eat the world's due, by the grave and thee.
SONNET 11
I am not good at deciphering Shakespeare, so GO. This is the extent of my meta-thinking today.
EDIT 2: OKAY I also looked up numerology for 11:
THE MOST INTUITIVE. ASSOCIATED WITH JUSTICE. MASTER NUMBER.
And #1 is really long as well, but this was the interesting bit:
Listen this is intentional, y’all.
#TheYearOfShakespeare: Sonnet XI
Sonnet XI
This takes up the same argument as sonnet I, and indeed it is a sonnet that can hardly stand on its own because 'if all were minded so' implies that we know already how the youth is minded to behave, information which we only derive from what has gone before.
'Youth rapidly wanes, but this decrease may be made up by the children that a young man may beget. Otherwise all are doomed to age and decay. Since you are manifestly so beautiful, let the fate of dying out be left to barren, harsh and sullen souls. You are so well endowed by nature, that it is clear she intended you to be a seal, from the impress of which many copies should be made'.
As fast as thou shalt wane, so fast thou growest In one of thine, from that which thou departest; And that fresh blood which youngly thou bestow'st Thou mayst call thine when thou from youth convertest. Herein lives wisdom, beauty and increase: Without this, folly, age and cold decay: If all were minded so, the times should cease And threescore year would make the world away. Let those whom Nature hath not made for store, Harsh featureless and rude, barrenly perish: Look, whom she best endow'd she gave the more; Which bounteous gift thou shouldst in bounty cherish: She carved thee for her seal, and meant thereby Thou shouldst print more, not let that copy die.
