The Third Quarter Quell| Finnick and Medea.

Medea stood on the pedestal of above the water waiting for the count down. She had a tough job to do. She knew she would have to stay behind if the plan to get Katniss out of the arena went out without a hitch. It was imperative that if she survived the games she needed to spy on Snow so she had to act as if she was willing to take out anyone and everyone all the while not taking out the two from twelve. She glanced over at Brutus, she knew he wouldn't hesitate to kill her and she decided not to be in the career pack this time around. It will be tough since a good half of the people were in the games to kill while the others were to protect the two lovebirds until the end. She just had to play the the former one enough to keep Snows trust to spy on him for the rebellion after they got out of here.

          It had been his responsibility to keep Panem safe. That's what their creed promised. Safety and protection for all people. And yet as he rounded the corner, crept back into the recesses where he knew the boy held up, Klaus found himself wondering just who it was he was meant for. To wound the pride of ostentatious victors who had climbed too high? To stifle their fame and decipher their ambiguity? It was reasonable to feel that way. How many names had he crossed off the list for the Capitol?

          His feet pounded against the lush carpet, heavy boots as he ticked down the names with every step. Each and every one made him that much more tired. That much more cross. Finally his feet fell quiet, stopped where he was against the lavish door, ornate in design, decorated rather elegantly in something Klaus imagined as fishing line. Maybe a net. Hand poised, he hesitated just a moment before knocking. This was meant as a sort of reward. A chance to tackle a much bigger fish than his past triumphs.

          Sighing once more, his knuckles rapped at the door, his breath held tight in his lungs. He cold feel his heart beating just slightly faster than it ought to. Not nervous, but impatient, impractical. Would that he were just never born with one. But all at once he stilled, his composure returning to him just long enough to fix an icy glare, something menacing to prove he would not be wooed by this most infamous of conquests.

                 { Eyebrows raise in their mock surprise, eyes idly scanning around their surroundings though it’s evident her resolute attempt not to glance at him. }

Annie knocked on Finnick's door, a little more excitedly than she intended to. She had made him promise that he'd spend the day with her the day after he had gotten home from the Capitol, and now here she was, ready to collect, right after the sun had risen. It felt like forever since she'd seen him, even though it'd only been a week or so; a week too long, she'd decided. "Finn!" She called out, only after peeking the front door open, when he didn't come to the door right away. Annie hoped he wasn't still sleeping. She realized he had probably gotten in late last night, but still. She was excited.
