What state (and city/town) is Jack from? America is huge so regional experiences differ wildly. For example, baseball is much more popular in New York than Alabama, Southern California is warm, dry, breezy and beachy while Northern California is cooler, wetter, and more forested, Colorado has mountain culture while Iowa is known for being very flat and having a lot of fields. For instance, I am from the Sonoran desert and people are always interested and often unfamiliar with the environment and animals where I live, even if they are from the US. Plants like the saguaro, ocotillo, and century plant, as well as animals like the javelina, gila monster, kit fox, coati, and tarantula make my friends think I must be living in a Dr. Seuss book!

Listening to your stories really makes me realize just how huge the United States is.

If someone broke up with their girlfriend in New York and she moved to Las Vegas, they'd probably never see each other again. And I bet even their Facebook feeds would end up looking completely different because they'd be surrounded by such different cultures and lifestyles.
