One of my proudest homebrewed items was a Bag of Withholding - this particular Bag of Holding holds on to your shit because it's got a fairy hex on it; when trying to retrieve an item from the bag, the player must pass a difficult Dexterity check (if successful, they manage to "distract" the bag and yank the item out quickly.) Other solutions to the problem include undoing the hex with magic, or in my campaign, it was actually given in order to be destroyed; a cursed item was in the adventurers' possession, and they would have needed to go on a difficult sidequest to destroy it. However, one of my players was clever enough to ask the right question: if the Bag of Withholding is destroyed, does that destroy its contents as well? (It does.)
