17. Soofiya (@soofiya) - I first noticed Soofiya's artwork at @burntrotimag's 'Beauty Of Being British Asian' exhibition. Seeing artwork celebrate brownness and hairiness was an entirely new experience for me and I had to seek out more. Now I own several of Soofiya's zines and I've also visited #soofthefloof. There is something in their work that really resonates with me. A few weekends ago, I ventured to @housmans_books to pick up this zine by @soofiya. I found out about @soofiya at @burntrotimag's 'Beauty of British Asian' exhibition and I fell in love with their work. Auntie Fatima was a must have. I don't have any lefty aunts but I do have one hell of a lefty mother. She's always fought the good fight - on the street, at work and at home. She's my political foundation: anti-fascist and proud.
