The Post (movie)

If you need a movie to tide you over this January and this incoming Government Shutdown in America, I would like to recommend The Post. Spielberg brought together quite a powerhouse tag-team of Meryl Streep and best dad Tom Hanks in his chronicle of the importance of free speech. Not only was the sound design entrancingly realistic, but the camera angles and set designs were beautifully dynamic. The plot however, was a wonderful double edged social commentary of freedom of press and women's rights. Honestly, the story of the freedom of the press and the job of journalists to hold authorities accountable through the mass media is still, if not more relevant now. I give it 9.1 newspapers out of 10 potentially treasonous acts.
