Karen was going through a ‘phase’ - at least that’s what their parents said. I guess it was kind of a phase.
The notorious Teenage Nightmare had attacked! Karen was upset half of the time, and quite snappy. She was also trying to fit into the ‘norms’ and following every damn command from her lame, rude ass friends. Kenny was tired of it - and worried. He knew what his sister was going through, so he decided to take a gentle approach.
“‘Sup Kare,” the older brother plopped down on the couch beside his sister. “Whatcha reading?”
"Stuff," was all she mumbled, avoiding eye contact. That made Kenny frown.
"Karen… Are you okay? You’ve been acting kinda weird lately."
"I’m fine."
"Ya sure?"
Karen nodded. “Mhm. I’m waiting for Cathy to pick me up to go to her party.”
I Am Not A Robot - Marina and the Diamonds - Kind of like Kenny trying to let his sister know that she’s not a robot - she doesn’t have to let people pressure into things that she doesn’t want to do.

Wow, Kyle was in an awful mood. Whoever bothered him today sure had it in for themselves. Unfortunately, this poor person was Karen McCormick. The redhead was on his way home from a bad day at school when she bumped into him, jerking him forward and making him drop all of his books and belongings. He spun around, glaring. "What the hell's the matter with you? Don't you watch where you're--" He stopped, realizing who he was yelling at. "Oh, shit, sorry Karen.."
