may i just say thank you for your gorgeous gifsets and also, in regards to your tags, god are you right about doug. i'm so happy to find someone else who feel the same way about that character.

tbf i think a lot of stendan fans ended up feeling that way about doug even if they started out liking him at the beginning. the thing is he was pretty harmless until they paired him with ste romantically and set this awful dynamic into motion. it was a case of square peg into a round hole, the writers were forcing them to work and it wasn't at all organic.

for me ste & doug as friends were fine and believable. ste & doug romantically were a fate worse than death to watch lmao.

it wasn't soley because of stendan, take them out of the equation and they still couldn't sell it as an otp: the chemistry wasn't there, the characters didn't mesh they had nothing in common, i'm sorry but doug getting hugged gay was hysterical to me and 90% of the time were acting like they hated each other.

once you compared them to stendan it was game over, kieron and emmett's insane all around chemistry was unbeatable, they ticked all the boxes story wise, had all the tropes for an otp and the general audience loved brendan and stendan too.

i think emmett said it best and was the voice of all stendan fans,

Hi! im a newish blog and im really into idea of making gifs (or wanting to make them) but im not sure where to start or what programs, sites etc you use. i used to be on tumblr years ago and there used to be so many gifs tutorials and colouring i wish i bothered to look then but never did, anyway yeah, any tips, tricks or other blogs i or anyone else interested could look to? totally cool if you dont want to answer lol

we could always use more gifmakers on this hellsite especially now as there's not many around and significantly less gifs being made :(

though it is a double edged sword and also the worst time to join lmao

i'll link some resources below that may be of help to you:

the number one software program and widely used by the majority of gifmakers, myself included is photoshop. in my opinion this creates the best gifs overall however it is not free (booo) so you either have to pay for it or have a search on google/forums to see if you can find a 🏴‍☠️ version for free.

the second closest program to photoshop is it's little sister photopea linked here. now she is a free web based version who has a similar vibe to photoshop but you just don't get as crisp a finish or as many adjustment layers or tools to work with. however you can still create some beautiful gifs with it and tbf it's been a long time since i used it so it could've improved.

the third option is ezgif linked here. again this a free web based version however the quality isn't great and tbh id only use this as a last resort as it's very different from the other two.

finally a link to a resource blog for a number of gifmaking tutorials for beginners on photoshop found here and for photopea here and here.

bear in mind you will need to download video files to create the gifs from and screencapping software which is usually free and is covered in the gif tutorials above.

Soph! Thank you so much for your presence on this cursed site that we call home over the past year. I know gifmaking seems to be dying as there is a skill issue with reblogging on tumblr but I appreciate seeing your gifs on my dash every day whether I go to that fandom or not. There also seems to be a dying art of being a multifandom blog and you are the queen of fandom diversity. When everything on my dash is blocked tags, I know I can rely on you to throw something on there that’s not a gray box. (Sorry, grey box 😂)
