→ hajime isn’t the kind to go out of his way to make friends - especially people from other classes - but sora is! seeing him wandering around the sprawling halls in the first few weeks of school, lost, sora immediately lends him a hand, and finds a friend in the much shyer first-year, who is now eternally indebted to him.
→ sora is full of energy, and at times hajime can’t keep up. he makes a good listener, pouring tea for the two as sora chatters away about everything and nothing. when he worriedly brings up about him being too dull for sora, sora is indignant that this is not the case - “look at this, haji-chan’s tea is amazing!” hajime is even more worried when sora downs his hot tea in one go.
→ the more time he spends around sora, the more his heart flutters when he thinks of him, looks at him, is with him. hajime’s hands tremble a lot when sora’s near him, and then the teacup clatters and falls to the ground with a crash. hajime is in tears, apologising profusely and attempting to clean up his mess; sora stoops down and kisses his tears away.
→ sora loves sunbathing, and the moment he finds an open field, he runs off to lie in it and bask in the sunshine. hajime is anxious that he’ll be suntanned like a baked bean and then ra*bits would lose their innocent allure, but obliges, lying next to sora in the warm grass. in truth, he has nothing to fear, since sora seems to absorb all the sun’s rays and reflect them with an equally sunny smile.
→ with a family to care for, hajime is really busy, and spends his time cleaning, taking care of his siblings or working to get some extra cash. initially, sora is disappointed that he can’t spend as much time frolicking with his boyfriend, but it’s all good now! with an extra pair of, albeit inexperienced, hands to help wash and dry the clothes, the job is done quicker together, and sora gets to see hajime more too!
→ hajime’s voice is so very soothing, and sora sees soft pastel colours whenever he speaks. when sora himself is not feeling his best, he’ll play back the songs hajime has sung, voice mails he’s sent him, or the sounds of awe hajime makes when they play video games together. hajime is embarrassed to hear it, but also pleased that he can be of help to sora.
→ one of hajime’s dreams is to go to disneyland, since he’s never really had the chance to go there. sora finally saves enough money, and surprises hajime on his birthday with a trip there. it takes all that hajime has not to cry throughout the experience, but he does when he takes the roller coaster he saw sora eyeing, and when the day came to an end and fireworks lit up him and the sky.
