There was a scene in episode 11 where Suzume was looking at clothes. The blouse was super cute and I thought the sweater + parka set would look good on Sora, and then this scene was stuck in my head before I knew it lol

In the very first shot of the series (following the opening credits) we see a sparrow landing to rest, framed by a bright blue sky.

In the second shot we see said sparrow looking in through the patio window at our titular maid, Tachibana Suzume. The same blue sky is reflected faintly in the glass, enveloping her form.

In Japanese, Suzume means sparrow.

She's a bird in the clouds, just learning to fly.

In episode two we're introduced to Endo Sora as he watches a plane pass overhead, the sky reflected in his eyeglass lenses.

When he looks forward, the reflection changes to show Suzume instead.

In Japanese, Sora means sky.

Suzume and Sora, Sparrow and Sky...

They're quite literally meant to be together!!!

So I've been watching The Food Diary of Miss Maid (Happy Maid Day 05/10!!)

I promised myself I wasn't going to fall for the romantic mini quest in a fluffy slice of life show YET AGAIN, but I am not immune to festival tropes... I am in fact extremely weak to them.........

Suzume loses herself to the dazzling festival lights - first in joy, then in fear.

To her great relief, she's spotted by Sora and the two step away from the crowd together.

Suzume is not her usual energetic self. She timidly laments wearing the yukata that made her feel like a different person, fearing she's no longer recognizable. It's a sort of armor for her - her battle gear. The thing that keeps her strong. The thing that gives her purpose and being.

But even without her usual maid uniform...
