For the WIP ask game: which one is your Sorcerer's Apprentice/HTTYD crossover and can you tell us about it? 👀
Ohhh 🥰 thank you for the ask! My Sorcerer's Apprentice AU is titled: "If Only". Idk if I'll keep that name, but it's what I came up with.
Since the story is told through Viggo's perspective, I thought that the title might work as a lament: If only the grimhold weren't so important, if only Hiccup were actually his son, if only things were different, if only...
For those of you who don't know. I was inspired by @hijacksecrets Sorcerer's Apprentice fanart, where Viggo kidnaps Hiccup as a baby after Stoick acquires the grimhold. So they're at a sort of stalemate and Viggo ends up raising Hiccup as his son, because he is the chosen one and carries immense power.
I thought there was a lot of potential for interesting drama, so I'm trying to write a one shot from Viggo's perspective as it goes through the different stages of Hiccup's growth. With Viggo growing increasingly attached to his adopted son, to the point where he grows to genuinely love Hiccup. Only for things to go horribly wrong when Hiccup discovers the truth.
(Note: This isn't vigcup fyi! Their relationship is strictly familial in this instance!)
