reading john’s journal truly feels like a special kind of torture cause what do you mean you saw your SIX YEAR OLD try and comfort you and thought that meant he was ready to start handling guns.

i just really really like Sam longing to know his dad. He wants to know him, he wants his attention. He wants John, but John gives him nothing.

sometimes when he’s waken from a nightmare he doesn’t try and go back to sleep, he stays awake and stares at his dad, maybe he pulls the blankets off of him to really see him.

Yeah, he may not ever get to know what his dad’s favourite colour is but he does know about the beauty mark on Johns back, that John himself doesn’t know about. so he wins

John teaching Dean discipline by edging him for so long Dean starts crying and sobbing while moaning out some, "I'll be good, dad. I won't cum, I won't do it." Some of the spn fandom sees the abuse the boys went through as so black and white that they think Sam didn't face as much abuse as dean, or that Dean protected Sam from everything John put them through. Dean only started to unpack all he was put through around season 2 WHEN JOHN WAS DEAD.

Sam was the more defiant younger brother do you really think that wouldn't make John go off on him? The only reason John and Sam didn't fight in the one episode was bc Dean interrupted them, and the only reason they didn't throw hands in the hospital was bc John was bedridden.

Dean was defending John's actions like it would save his fucking life to Sam, who was rightfully angry and hurt at all that man's actions. Dean protected Sam from things he deemed threats, so EVERYTHING/ONE ELSE but their own father. It is seen in the show that he would try to de-escalate the situations between Sam and John, because he didn't want them to fight because they were supposed to be a family. Dean; who holds the idea of a "picture perfect" yet messed up version of family above all else.

its also why ppl refuse to acknowledge Dean's abusive tendencies towards Sam. I'm not saying Sam is some helpless little thing that couldn't leave. Bc that's the point, they are toxic and codependent and will keeping going back to each other bc they can't live without each other BC OF JOHN. If Dean acted that way to a partner (who would alao be a grown adult) everyone would rightfully call him an abuser. But we're not gonna talk ab that rn.
