A protective talisman depicting the apotropaic image of a Gorgon's head, a common protection symbol throughout ancient Greece and the Hellenistic world, on the front and the names of the three attested Gorgons - Medusa, Sthenno, and Euryale - in Greek on the back. This particular image was done in the Attic style, based particularly the Gorgon images found painted in kylix cups from the 4th Century BCE. Talisman is available in .925 sterling silver, shibuichi (a 3:1 copper: silver art metal alloy), brass, or bronze. It is available as a coin, with a perpendicular bail for wearing as a pendant, or a parallel upeye for hanging on a key chain.

Each piece is hand-made, cast and finished from a mold which I also made. Each piece is unique, with unique variations in texture and finish, including some small defects which are an inevitable part of the process.

These talismans are NOT consecrated. That is your responsibility.

as a jeweler, what kinds of ornamentation do you yourself like to wear on a given day? does that change much for special occasions?

Hey! Sorry it took me a couple days to get back to you.

How much and which jewelry I wear from day to day varies wildly, but the short answer is that excepting one person (who could also be fairly described as art-metal punk), I wear more jewelry than every other jeweler I've known combined, and it absolutely changes for special occasions.

When I'm just hanging about the house or in my studio, it's usually just the two pairs of earrings that never come out.

When I'm going out into public for anything more than basic errands, I have a half-dozen talismans that I wear: Venus, Mars, the Sun, al-Thurayya, and my tourmaline skull bracelet. The tourmaline skulls are a personal piece, and the Sun talisman is a citrine earring that other people would wear as a pendant, but the rest are my stock talisman designs or their prototypes.

And I balance the citrine with one of my other signature earrings:

If I'm being fancy (that is, if I'm actually going to talk to people), I wear my Eye of the Moon ring (to see clearly through all the magical protection, and my signet ring, my "ring of power" (a personal piece that has seen a lot of ritual use), and maybe a couple other bracelets. And if I'm not wearing my talismans (for whatever reason), I'll often wear my chnoubis singet. Oh, and the sterling silver glasses frames that I made for myself.

When I'm being extra fancy, I break out some of my jumbo sized signature pieces, like my framed labradorite or my amber medallion.

And then there's a wild collection of stuff that I don't as often find opportunities to wear.
