he was exhausted. he could only feel his way to the door, his fingers brushing against siding. he paused when his hand brushed wood, and his fingers instinctively wrapped around the frame. he knew how he’d gotten here, but didn’t understand the whys. he couldn’t really blame it on the area, considering he wasn’t exactly in the neighborhood. he guessed he just didn’t want to confront his roommate ---- didn’t want to explain what had happened to him. and matthew didn’t know of a lot of places to go, his options were sort of...limited.
as his eyes traveled, searching for a doorbell, he noticed his wrecked knuckles and the bright red blood that coated them. he knew his face wasn’t faring much better. a sudden wave of reconsideration ran through him, and he sighed, letting his head fall forward. his forehead caught against the door panel, hitting hard with a resonating crack. but he wasn’t really in the place to notice or really feel it.
