82nd & Fifth is the Met's address in New York City. It is also the intersection of art and ideas. We've invited curators from across the Museum to talk about works of art that changed the way they see the world: one work, one curator, two minutes at a time.

That's So... Jacobean
The Globe in London plans to open an indoor winter theater called the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. In true 17th century fashion, the Playhouse will be lit exclusively by candles. John Webster's The Duchess of Malfi (1612-13) will open the theater's season and will be directed by The Globe's artistic director, Dominic Droomgole. Following Webster the theater will show The Knight of the Burning Pestle by Francis Beaumont and John Marston's The Malcontent.
In true Renaissance spirit, the theater will have a permanent troupe of players -- all between then ages of 12 and 16. (It is this group that will put on The Malcontent.)
The 360-seat theater is set to open next January... which gives me a fair amount of time to start planning my trip overseas!
