In December of 2014 i was traveling in Moldova and i was so interested in a meeting with the head of the Roma/Gipsy community in Soroca, a small town at the northeast of Moldova, near the border with Ukraine. He kindly but with mistrustly attitude welcomed me at his huge house and offered me some candies and tea, and we sat around the “Pechka”, a huge wood-fire stove which is so traditional in old houses in Eastern Europe in order to keep home warm. I managed to keep a conversation with him with my broken russian back then, which was indeed challenging, but somehow we talked about different subjects, which interesting and enlightening.
