Fluffy midnight thoughts #53: you've finally got to the light at the end of the tunnel after a stressful couple of weeks and on that day, you get home and you plop yourself down on the couch with a big groan, you jump when you hear: "Long day?", you turn your head to see noah standing near you: "Oh, sorry. I didn't think anyone was in", he says it's fine and asks what happened as he walks closer to you, you say that you'll tell him later and you just wanna lay down for a bit, noah asks if there's anything he can do and you shake your head, he nods and grabs a blanket and drapes it over you, stroking your head afterwards, you smile and grab his hand to kiss the inside of his wrist before he leaves to give you some time to yourself, which you're grateful for but a small part of you wished he layed down with you
Oh I love the wrist kiss so much 🥹🥹 but I'm not gonna accept that ending. nope.
So... You lay there for a while, letting the exhaustion seep out of your bones, in the warmth of the blanket.
Eventually, the tension starts to ease, and you sigh contentedly. A few minutes pass before you hear light footsteps approaching. You peek one eye open as Noah crouches beside you, his brown eyes searching yours.
“You good?” he asks gently, his voice low and intimate, as though not wanting to disturb the fragile peace.
You nod slowly. “Better. Thank you.”
He tilts his head, his lips twitching into a soft, crooked smile. “Anytime.”
You hesitate for a moment before shifting slightly on the couch, creating just enough space next to you. “There’s, uh… room here. If you’re not busy.”
His eyes flicker with surprise, then warmth. He doesn’t say anything—he doesn’t need to. Without hesitation, he slides onto the couch, nestling in next to you. His arm drapes over your waist, and you feel his body relax as he molds perfectly against you. You let your head rest on his shoulder.
“This okay?” he murmurs, his lips brushing the top of your head.
So you just stay there in silence, Noah’s thumb tracing gentle circles against your arm, an absentminded motion that makes your heart swell.
And as his warmth lulls you into sleep, a smile curves your lips. You’re exactly where you want to be.
