In my mind, dragons eventually came back to Berk before Hiccup and Astrid died. Hiccup and Toothless both lament a perfect world where Hiccup would have lived as a feral dragon person free of his responsibilities as chief. Because inside, he’s a very free spirited whimsical person who spent the majority of his life using his ingenuity to create a technologically progressive community for Berkians. And he became a confident adult man who saw worth in himself without an almost divine dragon friend as his identity and purpose. But also… what could have been if he could have spent his whole life doing what Valka did with the Bewilderbeast x1000000000.

Stubble is one thing, beard is the other!! Stubble looks good on him as it highlights his jawline, beard... Nah

Potentially irrelevant by his thirties. Boy was already starting to grow out of his sharp, youth jawlines in his early twenties.

Beard can help slim a face and accentuate jawlines after the face has naturally widened or lost definition (ex: wrinkles) from aging.
